We're In For It!

Oh, let me tell you, we have an independent little soul on our hands! It's a good thing we don't want to know what we are having because Cupid wouldn't have let us see today anyways. S/he was very uncooperative and gave the U/S techs a run for their money. They had trouble getting some of the measurements they wanted because Cupid would either move right when they tried to take the measurement or stay curled up into a little ball and refuse to cooperate. It caused a lot of laughs though! My mom came with us and it was fun for her to be able to see Cupid with us.

Here are a few of the pics we got - no such luck with the cute profile pic that many people get as Cupid decided it would be more fun to hang out upside down and be camera shy!

The appt went very well and all is measuring on track which is great! I asked about the fact that I haven't felt any movement and I am a bit over 20 weeks. I was a bit concerned especially since Cupid moves around so much every time we have an ultrasound so I figured I should definitely be feeling it. Well, it appears that my placenta is lying in front and that will set me back a couple of weeks. So no worries there either. I have to say pregnancy and I get along very well! We go back in a month for routine check.

After the appointment we went to see T0y St0r.y 3. It was very cute and nice to be able to do in the middle of the day now that we are on vacation!

He's Home!!

Monday morning we got up as usual and I went downstairs to let the dog out. I did my usual scan of the backyard and gazebo and was sad that Gus still hadn't arrived home. It was day six and we had pretty much given up hope for him coming home. I left the sliding door open (as I usually do) so that Sadie could come back inside when she was finished.

All of a sudden, I hear MJ yelling from upstairs - "HE'S HOME, GUS IS BACK!!!" I walk into the kitchen and there he is! MJ came running down the stairs, scooped up GUS and we checked him all over. Other than being a bit skinny, he wasn't hurt, scratched, not even dirty. We gave him some food and he was good to go! Needless to say, we are elated that he is back with us!

Within minutes he was asking to go outside again.

We left him sprawled out on the kitchen floor taking a nice nap when we left for work.

He curled right up on the dog bed when we got home and took another nice nap.

Other than the fact that he has been meowing incessantly because he want us to pat him, he seems perfectly fine. Having him home was a great way to start the week!

In other news, today was the last day of school - YAY!!! Summer vacation is here for the next 68 days.

Tomorrow morning is our 20 week ultrasound - we'll post pics when we return. I think we are going to go see T0y St0r.y 3 after the appt.

Halfway

I never thought we'd make it this far! Here we are halfway through the pregnancy! I have been so lucky so far and it has pretty much been smooth sailing. We can't wait to see our little one during our ultrasound on Wednesday. 140 days down and 140 (or less) days to go! Here's to an uneventful next 20 weeks!

We also enjoyed a nice Father's Day brunch with my family this morning and we're going to start cleaning out the first room upstairs so we can relocate the guest room and make a nursery. We figure we should get started with some of this!

Almost There

We've almost made it to the end of the school year.  Only a day and 1/2 to go with the kids.   I'm not so sure we'll survive, however!   This has been the longest end to the school year that I can remember.  It has just seemed to drag on and on.  Never mind the fact that the temperature was 92* on Friday and will stay that way right through the end of school.  YIPEE - hot and naughty kids.   I can't think of anything better!   It will all be over soon.

We are also almost halfway through this pregnancy - tomorrow will be 20 weeks!!  And on Wednesday we get to go for our BIG ultrasound!  And, no, we are NOT finding out what this baby is.  Neither one of us wants to know.   My mom is coming to that appt with us and is very excited!

In sad news, one of our cats - GUS is missing.  He went out on Tuesday evening and we haven't seen him since.  We are very sad and wish we knew what happened to him.  Our other cat Max is just beside himself and is so out of sorts.  We think he knows what happened and we wish he could tell us...   The cats are never gone for more than a few hours at a time so this is not normal.

I'll take a new belly picture tomorrow and post them!  Happy weekend everyone!

Adventure Weekend

***I'm not sure why the spacing in the middle of this is all messed up, but I can't seem to fix it - so we'll just go with it!****

We had a fantastic weekend with Olivia. We picked her up right after school on Friday and got on the road for our 3 hour drive to the campground.

Saturday morning, we had a special reading of The Ca.t in the H.at so she could show off her new found reading skills!

Then it was time to get ready for the Fan.cy Nan.cy Luncheon! Olivia was in her glory getting all dressed up for the festivities!

Here we are all dressed up and ready to go!

Mrs. Claus came in and read a Fa.ncy Nan.cy story to the girls and she also told them stories of the goings on at the North Pole.

It was a fun way to have lunch!
We then headed to the Eric Ca.rle Museu.m of Pictu.re Book Art.  We had fun doing a scavenger hunt in the gallery and taking pictures with the Hun.gry Cater.pillar.

Then we headed into the art room to create collages

The finished product.

For the rest of the afternoon we went back to the campground and went swimming.  Then we hung out by the fire and roasted hot dogs for dinner.

It was a fantastic weekend!

Pregnancy (and other) Stuff

*Had my 1 hour glucose test yesterday (they did it early due to a history of high blood pressure) and "passed with flying colors" - YAY!!!

*The first person came up and touched my belly today - it was my Assistant Principal and she was so cute.  She said "Look at you, you're starting to show - how exciting."  It is so nice to have support at work!

*Took a new belly pick yesterday, but I looked awful - we'll try again this weekend.

*Getting close to the halfway point - UNBELIEVABLE!

*Our radishes sprouted today - so exciting!  We are loving our little garden.

*We are stealing Olivia for the weekend and taking her on an Adventure that includes camping, a Fancy Nan.cy Luncheon and a trip to the Er.ic Car.le Museum.

*I made banana bread tonight and as I was putting the pan in the oven the whole thing tipped over and spilled ALL over the oven door.  What a mess - MJ was a saint and cleaned it all up for me.  But, no banana bread....

*Only 13 1/2 more days of school - hallelujah!
