Just a quick post to wish MJ a very Happy Birthday! While she is at work today, I'm working on baking a cake and preparing a beef, chicken and shrimp fondue dinner. I figure we might as well celebrate and enjoy a nice dinner as it may be the last chance we have for a while. Hopefully we'll be celebrating another BIRTH Day very soon as well!
Happy Birthday, MJ - you are the best!!! Enjoy your day!!

The View From Here
Here I am on Day 2 of maternity leave - 12 days until baby is due. Boy, oh, boy we do wish Cupid would hurry up and make his/her debut!!! S/he has been stubborn all along when it comes to tests, ultrasounds, etc, so why would we think the birth would be any different???
I'll leave you with our 38 week belly pics:
and some pics of Max sleeping in the bassinet - we'll have to work on keeping the cats out of there once baby comes...... he is awfully cute though! Believe it or not neither one of them has been in the crib....

You Know You Are 38 Weeks Pregnant When.....
Your belly is so rock hard that the poor kindergartener who runs in for a hug has his face bounce off of it......
Ankles - what ankles???
Heartburn - oh, the heartburn......
You can no longer put your shoes and socks on by yourself......
Everything hurts......
You have to pee constantly......
You make sure your legs are always shaved and there is always plenty of gas in the car......
You keep walking by the nursery and thinking - HOLY %*#& a baby is coming to live here soon......
Your house has been overtaken by baby items......
Your hospital bag is packed and in the car.......
Time seems to be crawling - this last Two Week Wait is longer than the first TWW.....
You get more and more excited to meet this little one with each passing day......
38 Weeks - what a great place to be!!!

Full Term
Well, we have reached the point of 37 weeks - full term. It feels so good to be here! It is a bit of a weird place to be as now we are just waiting for Cupid to arrive. We are all ready for the arrival and now just sit and wait. and wait. and wait. and wait..... This is my last week of work and I am looking forward to starting maternity leave. Thanks to all of the sick time I have banked over the last 11 years at my job, I can stay home until March 1. I am so thankful for this! Four plus months off will just be heavenly!
Yesterday we went to finish out our registry and had lots of fun spending gift cards. We were also amazed at how much we still "needed" and couldn't believe how much cash we spent as well.
I fully took advantage of the stork parking space!!
Good thing we didn't need too much!!!
Ahhh, the home stretch is here!

36 Weeks and Work Shower
Here are our 36 week pictures taken earlier this week! We missed taking Week 35, but oh well. We can't believe that we are a short 3 weeks away from meeting this baby. We can't wait to find out if this baby is a boy or a girl!
In other news, we had a shower at the school that we both work at today. We have such a kind and generous staff! We were showered with so many gifts and gift cards as well. It is so nice to work with such a wonderful and accepting staff - the shower was for BOTH of us which was so wonderful! Below is the picture of the adorable cake that our Secretary made.
And, here is all of the loot packed in the car ready to go home!

Nursery
Our Nursery is all finished and we just LOVE it. We are so happy with how it looks. We wanted fun and cheery and that is definitely what we got!!! All we are waiting for is the glider which will be here soon! Here are the pics for you to peruse:
The glider will go to the left of the shelf in the picture below.

35/35
Today we have reached 35/35 - 35 weeks pregnant and 35 days to go - where did the time go?!?!? We feel like we are kids waiting for Christmas! I am still feeling great - almost too good. Is this the calm before the storm??? We are spending the day today washing up all of Cupid's things - clothes, blankets, etc. Once we get things all washed and put away the Nursery will be done. We just need to get the rocking chair which we are planning on doing next weekend.
We still need to get the cars cleaned out and the car seat installed, pack a hospital bag, and do some prepping of meals to put in the freezer. That's what our long weekend will be for next weekend.
Yesterday was a gorgeous fall day and we had lots of fun - we went to a harvest festival with my mom and then to a local fair with my mom and dad. It was so nice to be out and about and enjoy the crisp fall weather.
That's the news from here - it really is countdown time!
