Surreal

I have to say that some days I still find it quite surreal that we are having a second child.  After so much struggle and heartache to have Drew, it seems so strange that this babe has come to us after only three tries.  Yet here we are already through the first trimester.  Time seems to just be flying by and Peanut will certainly be here before we know it!

We went for our first OB appointments and all is well.  Had an ultrasound as well and the baby was squirming and jumping like crazy.  Completely uncooperative for the ultrasound tech just like Little Man was.  At one point I thought that the baby had hiccups and the tech said, "Oh no, they are just using their legs to push off the top of your uterus and bounce around!"

I am still amazed at the growth and development that occurrs in the first few weeks.  Peanut was surely a baby now and all features could be clearly made out.  Before we know it, we will be having our 20 week ultrasound and it will be halfway through!  We will NOT be finding out the gender of this one as we loved having that surprise with Drew.

We are on vacation this week and it is heavenly to be able to spend the days with Little Man!  He is quite excited about being a big brother and he is going to be quite disappointed at the fact that Peanut is not going to arrive ready to play.  He has such grand plans for the baby already!  It is quite adorable to listen to him talk about all of the things he will do/share/play with Peanut!

We Found Him......

Ne.m0 that is!  We went to bed on Friday night with about 6 inches of snow on the ground and woke up Saturday morning to about 2 FEET of snow!!!  It was crazy!  My parents, who live only 15 minutes from us got close to 3 feet.  That is just a lot of snow!  MJ had to snowblow paths before Drew could even go outside so he didn't get lost in all of the snow.  We dug paths to the swingset and playhouse in the backyard.  It was tons of fun to play in.....not so fun to clean out of!

We haven't seen a blizzard like this in New England since I was very young.  Roads in some states were literally closed - it was illegal to travel unless you were essential.  Schools in southern New England are still closed tomorrow because they are still not cleaned out.

We had a grand old time just hunkered down at home!
