I was tagged by the girls from An Offering of Love for the 10 things/Sugar Doll meme that is currently circulating so here goes:
1. I am a reality TV junkie. My absolute favorite is The Ama.zing Ra.ce. I think my Dad and I would kick ass if we went on that show together. I have great travel experience and Dad has incredible drive and will never give up!
2. For as long as I can remember I wanted to be a teacher. I used to play school like it was nobody's business, and I never changed my mind about "what I wanted to be when I grow up." Thankfully I still love my job!
3. About 10 years ago I was in Montreal and participated in an event called "Around the World in Seven Bites." We ate crickets, ants, mealworms, and all sorts of other gross things - I was interviewed for a F00d Network show about Extreme food at that event!
4. I have just one brother and he is almost 3 years younger than me. My parents say they would have had a whole brood of children, but my mom had major infertility issues (hmmmmm......wonder where I got that from?).
5. One of my favorite vacations was during the summer of 2006. MJ and I took our niece and nephews on a week long road trip/camping trip to SD and WY. We visited a bunch of the National Parks and Monuments. We all had a blast!
6. I am so terrified that we are going to lose this pregnancy as well. If we do, our TTC journey is over.....
7. My family always goes to a restaurant for Easter Dinner. It is a tradition that started close to 10 years ago now and we just love it. We enjoy good food and great company. I will be the DD this year :)
8. MJ and I both love anything crafty - sewing, scrapbooking, card making, etc - you name it, we like it!
9. This year we started a Project 365 blog. The goal is to take a picture each day. We aren't quite getting a pic a day, but it is a fun challenge and I can't wait to see the collection at the end of the year.
10. I have traveled to India 3 times. All three times I spent the majority of my time there in Calcutta volunteering in Mother Teresa's homes. I have worked in her Home for the Dying, Home for Mentally Ill, Home for Disabled Children and Orphanage. During my first trip in early 1997, we were able to meet Mother Teresa!
It seems like everyone has been tagged, so if you haven't, consider yourself tagged!

It Just Gets Better
Now we started our week on a high seeing the heartbeat of our Cupid - that, of course, was fantastic!
Today, life got even better. My position at work was on the cut list (again) this year. I was freaking out, especially thinking about having to make a job change, going on maternity leave next year with a new position, etc. Well, I was informed today that the position was in the list of those that funding was "found" for next year.
AHHHHH, I am sooo happy. This position is so much easier to just leave for maternity leave as opposed to being in a classroom. And, since I am going to be able to take close to four months off due to the sick time I have banked, it is one less worry I will have next year.
I think 2010 is going to be our year!

Introducing........
........Cupid. Yeah, I know, kind of a cheesy name, but when your IUI and conception takes place on Valentine's Day you have to run with it!
Thanks to everyone for all of the supportive comments on yesterday's post!
Great appointment today! Thanks to everyone for all of the supportive comments on yesterday's post!
We went in absolutely terrified and quickly were relieved when that little flicker of a beating heart appeared on the screen!
Heartbeat first measurement was 160BPM and second measurement was 154BPM - PERFECT!
I am 7W1D and measuring 7W0D - just fine there too.
For now we are breathing a huge sigh of relief.
We go back to the doc in 3 weeks (mostly for our own sanity) before making an appt with an OB. We just feel more comfortable sticking with the people who have seen us through this journey until we are a little more out of the woods.
Stick baby, stick...
Your mamas need you!

Seven
We are seven weeks pregnant today.
We go tomorrow for our first Ultrasound - I am scared to death!
I have had "feeling" in my uterus for four days now - can't quite tell if it's cramping or stretching or what - just praying that it is all normal.
Did I mention that I am freaking out about tomorrow???
Deep down I know everything will be fine, but it is so hard not to worry once you have already had a loss.
This was the weekend we found out we were pregnant last time, so sort of a bittersweet time for us.
There is still plenty of nausea and plenty of exhaustion.
3:30 tomorrow is an eternity away!
We'll update when we get home tomorrow!

A Few Things...
First of all, go on over to Bang Head Here and wish Cindy and Joey a huge congrats on their BFP!!
Second - Happy St. Patrick's Day!
Third - Things are still plugging along here - feeling really yucky today which is a good thing! Waiting until Monday afternoon for our first U/S.
It has been in the 60's here which is about 30 degrees above normal for March and we are LOVING it!!! It is supposed to be 68 on Sunday! We even broke a record today for all time high temp. I'm hoping that spring may have sprung early this year and that it isn't just a cruel joke!
That's about all!

Busy Saturday with Olivia
We had a very busy day yesterday with Olivia. We started the morning at L0we's for the kid's project . She had lost of fun making the table top basketball hoop.
We then went to the Children's Museum because 0livia the Pig (from the children's book series) was there. We had a blast and spent 2 1/2 hours there - we ended up leaving because we were all really hungry and needed some lunch!
In addition to all of this, we also went to visit my parents and had dinner with them - needless to say, we had one tired girl on our hands once we finally got home!

It's been almost a week.....
I do realize that it has been almost a week since we've posted, but it has been a busy one! Getting back to work after vacation is always torture, especially after the (lack of) vacation we had las week with everything going on with my Nana and finding out we are pregnant.
We set up our first ultrasound for March 22 - we will be 7 weeks 1 day at that appt. I am kind of nervous that there are no more betas, etc, but we'll just hope for the best and see our little bean in two more weeks.
I have had very few symptoms - the only real ones have been sore bbs and I've been really tired. I keep telling myself that it is OK and I don't have to feel nauseous in order to be pregnant. Besides it is still really early (5 weeks pg today).
Other than that , not much else going on....we're just enjoying the thought of adding a little one to our lives this fall.

Beta Numbers
Beta Number One:
HCG 25
Progesterone 15.4
I am fine with that - the beta was taken at 11dpo so of course the HCG number is going to be low... That is REALLY early for a first beta.
I am especially pleased with the progesterone number. Doc wants it between 15 and 20. Much better than the measley 11 I had last pregnancy.
Had another blood draw today - will have the results in the morning.
We'll keep you posted.
