Crazy Day!

Whew! Busy, busy day today! We started off with early morning blood work at the hospital an extra 20 minutes away because of the holiday and my doc needing to be on call for the results. Then, we headed to one of our favorite scrapbook stores for a “Cr0p instead of Sh0p” 12 hour scrapbooking extravaganza. We LOVE going to these crops. We always get so much done! Today I accomplished 17 pages and just about finished up our Dis.ney album from the summer of 2008. MJ wins the prize though as she completed 20 pages in our 2008 album. We only have 2 months left in that album and then we’ll only be a year behind – not too bad, right?!?! We went with two other people from work and just had a wonderfully productive day.


Stopped at W.al Ma.rt on the way home to pick up some $3 PJ’s for Olivia to have when she comes to our house and some new ornaments for the tree. Headed to bed so we can get up early and hit some d00rbusters at J0An.ns tomorrow morning – they have some scrapb00king albums on sale for dirt cheap. Then we’ll spend the day with Laura, Sue, and Olivia.

Triggered already tonight and IUI is Sunday at 9AM!

Please, please, please keep everything crossed for us. We know our angel baby will be looking down on us and we appreciate everyone who is rooting for us this try. It certainly would be a great way to end 2009 and a wonderful Christ.mas present for us!

I still have that good feeling about this try- we’ll see how it all plays out.

Try #11A and #11B both a bust!

Well, you all know that when we TTC in August, the cycle was a bust as the meds never stimulated my ovaries enough. Well, we did try #11B this past month and it was a bust too....AF arrived today. We hadn't blogged about this most recent try as we were just trying to kind of "stay under the radar" so to speak. We are bummed - I am pretty sure our timing was off with this one.

So, we sit out a month, and try again in November - that will make Try #12 - and we should inseminate right around the time Chicklet was due. It will be a bittersweet try, I'm sure...

TTC Update - need some advice

First things first - go over to And Baby Makes Three and congratulate Lisa and Danielle who FINALLY got their BFP after 17 tries!

Well, here we are - our first cycle after the miscarriage. I went for bloodwork and the baseline ultrasound on Thursday. Everything looked great. So, I started my evening cocktail of Folli.stim

We are going to follow the exact same protocol as we did last cycle when we got pregnant. Stims for 17 days, trigger on day 18, IUI 36 hours later on Day 20. Let's hope that maybe, just maybe, we could be so lucky on our first try back? We have been at this since Feb of 2006 - that's 3 and 1/2 years. I think it is finally our time!

Ok, here is where I need advice from those of you in this TTC game - I asked the doctor about starting prog.esterone right at the time of IUI (last time we waited until after beta #2). She said that she would do it if we wanted to, however, from her experience and research, all it does is prolong the inevitable if something is going to go wrong. She said it will NOT prevent miscarriage, or make a pregnancy happen. If something is going to go wrong, it will - progesterone or not. She said that for IVF they do because it is actually a much more "artificial" process.

What are your thoughts??? Please weigh in - I have read a lot that supports both schools of thought. My gut says just trust the doctor, but I'm not sure what to do - and if it is true that all it will do is "prolong the inevitable" - then I certainly don't want that!
