Parenting

Hold your hats, folks.....two blog posts in as many days!!! Truth is, Little Man is napping and I am home with him today so I decided to write up another post. Clearly this blog has taken a back seat, but for good reason. You see, I don't bother to spend nearly as much time online these days as I would much rather spend it with the Little Dude! When I do, I am usually on the iPad and never think to blog from there!

I titled this post Parenting because I want to take a moment to write about the fact that I am over the moon in love with being a parent. Even more than I could have ever imagined so. I amazed every day that I am lucky enough to be responsible for this tiny human being. He brings me more joy than I ever though possible!

Some updates about Drew:
*His vocabulary AMAZES us....Dude has easily 75+ words and is stringing them together in 2 -3 word sentences. You tell him something once and he does not forget. EVER.....
*Little Man LOVES to be outside - we can't wait for the snow to finish melting around here so that we can spend more time playing outdoors.
*Drew continues to be in the 95th percentile for height and 25th for weight. Long and lean.
*We have started to enter the realm of pretend play. It is so much fun watching him make food for us to try, etc.
*He continues to love all things with wheels, trucks, cars, trains and tractors. Give the boy one of these things and he is a happy camper!

As I said earlier, we really don't think there is anything better than waking up to the smiles and craziness of our Little Man - he completes us! One picture to thank you for following along!

Vacation

We just returned (a week ago) from an absolutely amazing week long vacation in Sarasota Florida.  One of the perks of being a teacher in NH is February Vacation.  So, we took the opportunity to get out of the cold and enjoy some warmer weather.  My Mom came along with us and Drew absolutely adored spending the week with his Nana!  Mom and Mama adored the couple of evenings we got to go out because Nana babysat!

The first day we were there, Little Man was already checking out the sand and waves!


He had more fun playing in the sprayers used to rinse the beach sand off!

Had lots of fun playing in the pool (we stayed at a wonderful resort on the ocean with great pools too!

Filled his bucket with water over and over again!

Got lots of love from Mom!

And we enjoyed the most amazing sunsets every single night. 

While we were gone they had a huge snow storm at home.....aw shucks - we had to miss it!  We are already dreaming of going back....

Cupid's Day

Two years ago today our Cupid was conceived. What a difference 2 years makes. We now have a happy, crazy, loveable, amazing Little Man in our lives!

Children's Museum

We had a wonderful weekend last weekend!  Olivia, who Drew now calls "Oweeeee" came to visit for the weekend and it was a great time.  We decided to go to the Children's Museum - it was Drew's first trip.  He had an absolute blast!  We ended up buying a membership and I can only imagine the use we will get out of it!

Now that we are spending more and more time in public places with other children I am amazed at the sheer LACK of parent involvement that we see.  I can't believe the number of parents sitting back, letting their kids run wild while the parent talks on the phone, texts, or reads a book.  Come on people - kids need to be parented!  Besides, they are missing out on the moments in their kids' lives that they can never get back.    Anyways.....off my soapbox for now! 

As you can see from the pics below, we had an absolutely amazing time!  We can't wait to return.

Oh, and one other thing - Little Man has finally decided that walking is for him and he now walks all the time - everywhere!  He has been this way with every milestone - technically a little behind the books, but once he decided to take off - there is no turning back.  That's why we love our little independent soul! 

Poor, Neglected Blog

Oh, this poor blog has been quite neglected since Little Man has entered our lives! In some ways I feel bad, but I love the busyness brought on by being a Mama. I wouldn't trade it for the world! Here is the quick rundown of what has been happening arond here:

*Words.....boy, oh, boy does Little Man have quite the vocabulary. We are astonished at he amount of words n his vocabulary. Some of the list includes: kitty, cookie, up, push, thank you, tractor, eat, all done, choo choo, santa, truck, wow, light, uh oh, and many more. He also knows many, many names as well as what sounds a dinosaur, cat, dog, and pig make.

*Ever since "crib bootcamp" at the end of November, he has slept from 7 PM to at least 6 AM in his own bed, no problems.

*A couple of weeks ago Drew decided to take his first steps. He hasn't really done a whole lot of walking since because frankly crawling is much faster. We aren't worried, and we aren't in a rush either. It should be noted, however, that the dude can clmb a flight of stairs in no time!

*We are currently at the tail end of hand, foot, and mouth disease. Not fun, but Little Man has been such a trooper and some extra snuggles have been a great cure!

*We absolutely adore being Drew's Moms and he continues to amaze us each and every day. We can't believe how he seems to grow literally overnight and he learns something new every day.

*We can't wait for some warmer weather to come our way so that we can enjoy some new outdoor adventures as a family!
