Today was a great family day. We all got together at my parents' house to celebrate my Nana. It was great to be together and have a great meal as well. Man, my brother can cook! After the grill blew up and his ribs turned to ash, he made prime rib with a mushroom glaze and chicken. Plus he made crab stuffed mushrooms and deviled eggs. YUMMY!!! Tomorrow will be my Nana's funeral and burial.
It's back to work tomorrow for MJ and I will have one more day of vacation.
I will go for another beta in the morning and call to get my results from last week. We'll see what the plan is after that - I'm sure I'll go for another beta or two this week. I'm especially anxious to find out my progesterone levels.
I'm looking forward to beginning our family together!

Scared to Death......
So, I am scared to death that we are going to lose this pregnancy also. I don't know which is worse - the ignorant bliss that we enjoyed with our first pregnancy a year ago, or the constant worrying that has come along with this one. I am constantly overanalyzing everything. My boobs don't hurt as much, and I haven't been nearly as nauseous in the last couple of days. But, my temp is still up and I still have terrible heartburn.
To make matters worse, we had a terrible wind and rain storm on Thursday night and the Doc's office was without power on Friday, so they were closed. I was supposed to get my first beta and progesterone numbers on Friday. Now I have to wait until Monday - UUGGHHH!!!
This is going to be a loooooooooong first trimester.
Oh, I hope our baby is ok......

Goodbye
Last night at 7:30 PM we said goodbye to my Nana. It has been a long week for all of us and though we will miss her, we are certainly glad that she is in a more peaceful place free from pain and suffering.
Here she is with her kids:
Her grandkids:

Here
We're here - it has just turned into a crazy vacation week.
Sunday we enjoyed a 12 hour crop and completed 41 pages for our scrapbooks!
Monday we picked up Olivia and then I got a call that my Nana took a turn for the worst, so I left MJ and Olivia with some teacher friends and rushed to the hospital to see her.
Tuesday the day was spent with my brother. I took him to meet with an admissions counselor at a Community College, then we went to lunch, and had to go and pick my uncle up at the airport. We then went directly back to the hospital.
Today it is snowing, we are watching The Wizard of Oz and we are returning Olivia tonight.
It has been a crazy few days, and we are preparing to lose my nana in the next few days.....

Bowling
My Mom has a couple of boys vising her this weekend - they are 10 and 12. Gregory, the 12 year old called us this afternoon and asked us if we wanted to go bowling. Of course, we agreed! I can't remember the last time I went bowling. It has been YEARS!! So, we hopped in the van and went and picked they boys, my mom, and brother up, and off we went. We had SO MUCH FUN!!! I forgot what a blast bowling was. My brother kicked our behinds in both strings, but MJ gave him a run for his money the first string! We'll have to think about doing this more often!

Some Thoughts
*Today is 3dpo and I have terrible heartburn - my one symptom from when I was pregnant last year. I don't even want to think about it - I'm sure my body is just playing terrible tricks on me.
*The thought of being pregnant again actually scares me to death - what if my body rejects pregnancy again?
*Then again, it could all be in my head and it's really way too early to tell anything anyways.
*We had a Snow Day yesterday and it never snowed until 4 O'Clock in the afternoon. It was wonderful!
*Only 2 more days of work and then we are on vacation for a week.
*We get to go to a 12 hour crop on Sunday - bring on the scrapbooking!
*Olivia is coming to play from Mon to Wed - we are looking forward to it.
*We can finally go snowshoeing this weekend because we got some snow yesterday (5 inches).
*Next week marks the beginning of year 5 of our TTC journey - we should be on child 2 by now.
*Did I mention that we are on vacation next week? YAY!!!

Here we go again...
My bloodwork yesterday showed that I was surging naturally (LH 21), so we did the IUI this morning. I did my trigger shot yesterday afternoon just for giggles and met the doc at 9AM today. Count was fantastic, everything was smooth, now we wait and see.....
Wouldn't it be cool if we made our baby on Valentine's Day?!
We came home and hung out and caught up on TV and took a 2 1/2 hour nap.
We'll celebrate Valentine's Day by having a nice dinner at home this evening.
Please, oh please, let this try be the one...

I go back tomorrow morning for blood work again.

Fingers crossed and baby making thoughts gladly accepted.

Restful Weekend
We had an absolutely perfect weekend away. On Friday night we had an easy drive with no traffic and we were there before 6PM! We checked in and then went for dinner at a great mexican restaurant. We were even treated to some live music while there. We headed back to the inn, enjoyed time in the hot tub and called it a day.
On Saturday, we started the morning with champagne and cranberry juice before breakfast. After a wonderful breakfast of quiche, we went to do some shopping. We headed into Ve.rmont and visited the D0g Cha.pel. We have a piece of art from there that some friends gave us for our Civil Union and we wanted to get another one. The art is all about dogs and is just fantastic!
Then we headed to a scrapbooking store (of course) and to visit the world's longest candy counter and had lunch at a little diner. We spent the afternoon and evening playing cribbage, in the hot tub, watching movies, and reading by the fireplace. It was a perfect day!
Today we moseyed our way back and did some more shopping on the way home. Picked up the dogs and are tuned in to the Sup.er B0w.l. This is the second year in a row that I have headed into this game in second place in the pool at work. I went with the S.aints because that is how I can win the pool. We'll see if that works out or not!
Here are a few pics from the weekend - I've saved more for a wordless Wednesday post this week.
On Friday, I emailed Grace, the innkeeper and asked her if she would order some fresh flowers and champagne to be in the room for a nice surprise when we got there. Of course, she pulled it all together even last minute!

Weekend Getaway
Well, we lucked out! We were fortunate enough to score a 20% off room at the High.lands I.nn by waiting until the last minute! So, we are headed out right from school on Friday. My parents are taking the dogs and we are headed for a bit of R and R!
We'll have nice dinners out, go snowshoeing, hit up the scrapbook store and the world's longest candy counter. We'll also do some shopping on the way home on Sunday.
Nothing else new going on here - I go for blood work on Friday - otherwise things are plugging along.

Good Appointment
I went for my baseline ul.trasou.nd this morning. I was a few days late, but no worries - we know how things go for me - s.l.o.w at the beginning. All was well, and the doc had good thoughts for this cycle. She was excited that it looks like my left ovary is going to be the dominant one this cycle. When she looked back, it was the dominant one when I got pregnant. She also was telling me about some articles that she has been reading about how women tend to have a "season" when they get pregnant. The articles talked about how statistically a woman with multiple children will often get pregnant during the same season. If this proves true, then this would be my season as it was 11 months ago that I got pregnant. Hey, we'll take whatever we can at this point!
We started our journey 4 years ago in February of 2006. Maybe we've come full circle and we'll get our BFP that sticks in February of 2010. 4 years is long enough to wait - it's our turn, damn it!
