We had an absolutely perfect weekend away. On Friday night we had an easy drive with no traffic and we were there before 6PM! We checked in and then went for dinner at a great mexican restaurant. We were even treated to some live music while there. We headed back to the inn, enjoyed time in the hot tub and called it a day.
On Saturday, we started the morning with champagne and cranberry juice before breakfast. After a wonderful breakfast of quiche, we went to do some shopping. We headed into Ve.rmont and visited the D0g Cha.pel. We have a piece of art from there that some friends gave us for our Civil Union and we wanted to get another one. The art is all about dogs and is just fantastic!
Then we headed to a scrapbooking store (of course) and to visit the world's longest candy counter and had lunch at a little diner. We spent the afternoon and evening playing cribbage, in the hot tub, watching movies, and reading by the fireplace. It was a perfect day!
Today we moseyed our way back and did some more shopping on the way home. Picked up the dogs and are tuned in to the Sup.er B0w.l. This is the second year in a row that I have headed into this game in second place in the pool at work. I went with the S.aints because that is how I can win the pool. We'll see if that works out or not!
Here are a few pics from the weekend - I've saved more for a wordless Wednesday post this week.
On Friday, I emailed Grace, the innkeeper and asked her if she would order some fresh flowers and champagne to be in the room for a nice surprise when we got there. Of course, she pulled it all together even last minute!
